These cute mythical animal was found in Republic of China. They were under strict protection and they only eat one special kind of grass "wo cao". They were given the name "grass mud horse".
Below is a documentary featuring these rare species.
NB, I was supposed to be in Vietnam last week lo. I signed for oversea trip last year to Thailand remember. Supposed to be a student leader, meaning don't have to pay and it had been postponed to last week. Of course the location had been changed to Vietnam because of the rebellious political condition in Thailand. I was more than happy to have it change to Vietnam though. I went Thailand before but not Vietnam.
But due to the trip postponed into my attachment period, so I can't go. But on a brighter notes, I called myself lucky that I can't turn up for the trip lo. I heard that I was boring like hell. 5 days trip and 3 day lecturing. 2 day R&R. I also heard that the location for R&R is visiting post office and zoo. Which neither of it seem to arose any of my interest.
So conclusion, I didn't waste my oversea allowance on Vietnam, that's why I got a full $1750 allowance for Australia trip banked in hot under my account. Of course money had to be served hot like food, it had already spent almost everything. No more allowance for my Austrian le.
PLUS, ToTo also not so 'Zhun'. I kana fined by NEA for littering. But how dare he accused me for littering cigg butt. With reference from dictionary.com, littering meaning "carelessly discarding rubbish" which I technically didn't undertake. After finishing my cigg, I carefully with much intention, I extinguished the butt on the floor. I left it there lying on the floor which later I forgot to pick up and throw away. Like that call littering meh. I forgot to take. I am forgetful what. So like that next time, someone displace his handphone on the table and then NEA can jolly well fine the guy for littering lo. Okie a bit trying too hard.
Anyway, first attempt only fine me $200. I considered it quite harsh loh. At least a strict verbal warning. People first time prositude also got hong bao I first time caught forgeting to pick up rubbish, fine me so harsh.
Wahaha, this is Mr Hari, hari, hari, hari, hari...... I mean that was how I literately called him. Mr Engineer Hari. Sitting beside him is super hilarious cause he constantly mumbling nonsense which I had utterly no idea what he is talking about. I tried to make out his nonsensical words but only to result in fulitity.
Try to listen to what he say.
I am also amused by the way he eat. Or rather what he eats. It was so standard because he had been eating the same thing for the past 3 week when I was in the plant. Morning while waiting for bus, he will eat 2 pieces of pattima. Something like prata but is dryer. He said pattima can be stored overnight.
At lunch, he had this gagartuan package of rice, with curry his friend cooked. He always massage the rice first before he eat. I reckon that he is trying to mix the rice and the curry. So funny. Very thrifty dude. His meal doesn't include any meat but he wasn't a vegetarian either. I think the lunch itself cost less than 40cents. Home cooked!!
There's all he eat during lunch.
Thrifty Hari at lunch
Besides, Mr Hari is also "as hardworking as a bee". He sit all day at his desk looking all focus and dedicated. He can spent his whole morning replying one single E-mail. I literately staring at him, watching him finish the whole E-mail, it took more than 1 hours. Not very complicated stuff. Just constructing a 4 x 4 cell table. It took 1 hour plus. POWER~~~~
His left hand were only used to press the "shift" and the letter "A".
I wasn't mocking him or what. He is a very nice dude. I love him okie. If not my life there will be unbearable. Thanks for brighten my day and so I return with a dedicated post for you. Muahaha.
This is our Micro Filtration train. Me in my PPE. Sibei smart siol....
Hippo Campus is the best. A lot of bonding activities but most importantly, they uses Hippo's fund. So we don't have to pay a cent. So, of course I attended the unsolicited invitation to Wine appreciation.
Btw, I didn't really paying attention to the speaker who speaks with a heavy France accents. I am not in anyway feeling disturbed because, I got used to funny accents already. Now I working with "China", "Myanmar" and "Indian" in New water plant. All speaking with their own unique tongue twister. I couldn't make out the words and I couldn't be bother either. Just nodding your head will do. I most importantly, look as if you understand them. And I noticed a remarkable Indian phenomenon. Indian genetically shakes their head as a gesture for acknowledgment, but not more than twice.
People with high GPA took picture will pride. As if their are showing off with their result in their hand. People who are not so well done didn't appear in the picture.
While, tasting the wine, we were served with generous amount and wide varities of cheezes.
Of cos, not forgeting to take some group photos...
Hippo Campus, committees.
After, wine tasting, join them for free dinner at Japanese resturant. I picked one of the most expensive dishes. Exploit them of course.
I end the post with a small joke from one of my China colleague.
I following up from previous post, where I said that I was fascinated by the unique construction method for our storage tank. I thereby providing some visual aids in its corresponding time lines, just in case you can't understand what I had descried. I mean it the form of words of course.
First, after constructing the first circumference which will be the highest level after the construction. They started to construction roof cover. I reckon the roof is convexly built to improve certain strength properties of the structure.
Secondly, they had fully covered the roof with triangular truss, which I was taught that triangle gives the strongest and most effective strength to load ratios.
Thirdly, Tank will be subjected to hydraulic pressure on the surface walls, which will later induce some tensional force on the roof. I assume that since the roof is convex it had a higher resistance to tension forces.
Lastly, the tank will be raised one level, which they will carry on doing up the circumference of the level below till the desired height. I was told the advances are fast and uses less scaffolds.
I took the picture using my handphone. Which was a paper printed picture. I barely can tell it was taken from a paper. It looked so real and crisp.
The only highlight for the whole week is that I catches up with my old pal. Good people, fun loving. Totally love them, so happy I enjoyed my weekend with them. I always prefer that wild side of mine compared to the "be a good boy" side. Only these people can reminiscence that I was once alive. Now I barely living in a shell, when I crosses to the other side, I became the deviant, which made me seems alien to them. I am bad because I smoke, I am bad because I drink, I am bad because I can't suppress my libido. I felt that people around me now have very different social behavior and mentality. I tried to adapt, but I always prefer my old friends. I am not implying everyone around me now, I am saying some people; majority, sad to say. I just can't get along. They just sucks.
Updated
Fucking awsome, you know what??? I tried flaming Saboka. It's something like tekilla shot, but more flammable if you understand what I am saying. You had to pour into your mouth and light a fire in your mouth. I failed on this attempt but you can see a slight flame if you watched close enough. This is an extremely dangerous act, the alcohol catches fire very easily, some people set their whole fucking shirt on fire before. Sibei high tech drink loh. Don't try it at home. You should try it in pub to impress people. Haha, seem I had impressed a few!!!
A perfect flaming tutorial
Shall do it more often during attachment otherwise I can't keep my sanity anymore. My attachment sucks!!
Not able to get any shot of the Changi New Water plant, therefore had to resort to the model. Unless you can't tell that I took from the model. If you wanna know the relevancy between the job I handled and the module that I studied, it is totally linked. Especially water technology. So after you studied water tech, you know roughly how the plant is working and what kind of treatment they are using, and of course the rationale and fundamental behind each component etc.
So year 3, most likely I will op for membrane technology because it will be useful when I join the company later on.
But sad to say, I wasn't as lucky as some of my classmate are. They got youngster around, funny or talkative people around. All of my job mates are very much to themselves. No common topic plus they are super busy and a lot to rush in this commissioning period. Totally no morale to work at all. 4 months, I wonder how am I suppose to drag through these shit.
First time for me to go for IT fair. Normally I always skip going to IT fair. So as I had some spare cash, I brought myself a digital camera. I think its for the purpose of taking photograph oversea bah. Brought for 200. But function wise really so so. Really just a simple point and shoot camera, cannot really expect much for it.
Took some picture for sample. Decent shoot if given enough light exposure. But quite movement sensitive. Maybe the shutter lag was slow or engine wasn't good. Night shoot are terribly noisy. Can say is completely trash equivalent.
My work station
My plant site
The storage tank construction were imba. They start with the roof then elevate it and do the body. Working backwards. Advantages are quick and without excessive use of scaffold. You notice the level different from one of it. It still under construction. At least, it was new to me.
Attachment started 2 days ago. Excited and scary on the first day. Nothing to do at Jurong Island. Later of the day, realized that I had been posted to Changi New Water plant. I have been isolated from the group. All of them working at Jurong and I, myself only had to go and work at Changi. Not fair.
Hmmm, actually I cannot say totally not fair. Just that these 2 different location had its good and bad points.
Like in Jurong, the air isn't clean because the whole island is industries burning waste and emitting harmful gases everyday. Moreover working Sakra ( Sembcorp Ulitiltiy ) you only get to do the "everyday" stuff. Because the sakra plant had been there for centuries, many of the problems had been anticipated or rectified. You are performing nothing more than a robot, maintain here.. check check there.
Of course beside all the bad point, you are working inside the main building where all the bosses and important people get to see you, know you. Of course you tend to stand a better chance in aquiring something when you ask for.
Changi New water bring in its pre-commencing periods. You gets to know every bolts and nuts of the structure. Exposed to opportunity of learning things out of your job scope. More comprehensive learning. Being a newly born infant, the plant commencing with a beta period where water is conveyed in the pipes to test workability but not yet supplying to public officially. A lot of difficulties and unforeseen mishap is going to happen. Through this you really can learn together with all the people and include it in your final report and a value added.
Bad point is, no canteen within the 5km radius. Very inaccessible location. You have to packet food in the morning like 7.30am and then eat it at 12pm. Take note that the army regulation had stated that ration that are more than 4 hours old are strictly to be disposed. So imagine eating "overdue" food for 4 months.
With these contrary, now I am positioned into a dilemma. I was given the chance to choose to come back J.I if I want to. But the question is, should I??
Hello world. I should be blogging using my new computer now, that is, if the guy had managed to delivery it to me by today. Nevertheless, I was so anxious to tell the world that I had got myself the mega gaming computer for my holiday.
Yes!! Meaning I will be able to play my favorite "Fallout 3" already. It will delivery enough horse power for me to run 2008 released Fallout 3. It's supposed to run on high end computer only, because it is so graphically intensed.
My new machine, besides aesthetically pleasing to me which looks like a fish tank. Have the following specs:
Processor:Intel Pentium D 820 (Dual Core Processor) – 2.8GHz
Motherboard: BIOSTAR P4M890-M7 TE
RAM:DDR2 (800) – 2GB
Hard Disk: Samsung – 250GB SATA2
DVDRW:PHILIPS DVD+/-RW
Graphic Card: Gainward Geforce 8600GT 256MB DDR3 with HDMI
LCD Monitor:VIEWSONIC 15 Inch LCD VE500
Beside powering by dual core processor, 2gb ram, it major factor now is because it have a dedicated DDR3 graphic card on its own. I am so excited because all my computer I had in the past doesn't have any good graphic card. Therefore I often had to resort to playing out-dated games. Or games without requirement of using a separate graphic card. Therefore this means a lot to me. I officially owes my first gaming PC.
YES!!! I CAN PLAY FALLOUT 3 FINALLY. HOHOHO!!!!
I reckon that nowadays, CPU casing uses transparent material because basically, we will want to show people what was inside it. Especially, when you have that red devil inside. Its like the soul and heart of the CPU. I know 8600GT 256mb wasn't anything to boost about, but at least it can overclock itself and support most the the games title out there. And it looks bombastic. Red color out of nowhere. It really catches attention.
Now guess how much I am paying. I bid on Ebay for $400 including delivery. Okie, initially it started from $100. I just simply offer 4 time the price and cut the crap from all the hassle to wait here and there. I hated being outbid last minute when my internet connection was slow. Sweet! I expecting the machine to arrive tomorrow. I hope I am able to wake up early enough to answer the guys call.
Okie, back to serious business. Anyone interested to partnership with me on a new business? I looking for people who are able to mend a web page and do updating work cause I am franchising new mobile from supplier and sell them as wholesales. The supplier will be passing me catalogs of new mobile set. Our job scope is to set up a web page and promote traffic. Our service had to extends to do delivery also. I need people to help me on the setting up of website and boasting the traffic. I don't know all the traffic thing therefore I needed helps.
It is a passive income, don't expect to earn few K at home. Maybe just additional pocket money and the experience to set up online business. A rough guide is $30 profit from a single new mobile. So it sort of commission based. ( franchise business )
