Swine Flu in April 09

Swine flu had swept us unexpectedly and causing an global calamity. Singapore as to better prepare us for the imminent outbreak had rose alert to code "orange". My company had just hold an emergency briefing which involves cautious steps to reduce our exposure to the minimum.

Just as we are being complacent over the fact that we were readily prepared to face SARS in the event of the next outbreak, pandemic virus had mutated into another more deadly form and cause a mayhem here.

Swine flu has an incubation period of around 7 days and symptoms only appear days after the person get infected. This made it harder to contain compared to SARS because the infected person could spread the virus before he can discover that he is infected. Measuring of body temperature do not constitute much of a preventive aspect but rather a form of tracing methodology. By studying of infected person temperature trend, they are able to better locate the source of the virus.

This flu virus is transmitted through sneezing, coughing and hand to mouth. That's why people are advised to keep a clean hygiene and increase personal immune system, to be less susceptible to the virus. I seriously hope that the virus could be contained and vaccinated soon.


Lastly, my advices are; monitor your temperature, wear a mask and avoid eating food with your hand.

Don't panic if you see my links are gone. Currently doing some modification on my blog and if you have noticed, my tagboard and links are gone. Of course they are gone for a reason. A reason too harsh to for me to face.

Reason for removal of link was that I got remarks saying that they had been expecting high traffic flow from my site, obviously some people uses my link as a "terminal" to stalk other people blog. I don't like the feeling of being used to the extend that I felt people visited my blog just to click to other people's link. Like bus interchange. So links are gone for good.

Regarding tagboard.... It just gives me the feeling that I am so unpopular. Or no people bother to tag a comment because I had been blogging nonsense. It had been there for so long and remained as clam as a meditating monk. Tag board gone as well.

Nuffnang was the worst. The pathetic $7.30 since like don't know when. They had assigned my site and thought that I am no way capable in helping them promoting their advertisment. So no more ad since so long. So they are go went gone.

Now my blog is a blog. A single entry plus, archive and search box. Don't bother to try words like "fuck", "sex" or "Gary Ng scandal pic" (gary ng not refering to me, you know if you read news). They not going to show results. It had parential programme running. It send you virus if you search that.


Happily, I managed to "squeeze" into last semester book prize. I really did poorly compared to other semester and I am disappointed myself. IAP attachment in Changi Newater Plant had made myself becoming very lazy and unmotivated. I don't know if I can get a good grade for IAP or not. Some more, my SO aren't in much of a good term with me. That's so far the updates for my last week, really ain't anything interesting to brag about.

Enough said. Today Sunday went outing with a few good friends. Went recci the Yew Tee Point. Eat and talk crap, took some photo on N6220. I hope you enjoy the graphic :)

My working life and Indian cuisine

School will be starting for some people, leaving the other half remaining remorseful about the decision of choosing IAP over IHP. Or maybe its just me alone. I couldn't hesitate one second to swap position with Vincent. Seemingly so free and easy in school. Open to choices like focusing on project peacefully or either joining other classmate for some catching up activities. Reporting time to school is not an issue provided that all the work is properly done at the end of the day.

While all the uni graduate keeps complaining that there are no job for them in the current regressing market, I was bonded with a suck up job with my current employor. How suck up it is, maybe I shall narrate a full day schedule of my random day's boredom.


Wake up at 6:30 to brush teeth and stuff, and always remember to shave cos my chin grows hair everyday. Reach Queenstown MRT by 7:10 and buy my lunch for the later of the day. Catch my MRT before 7:20 to be safe to board my company transport. Everyday, MRT was crowded which only left me the choice standing while listening to MP3 to kill the 45 minutes of travelling time.

Reach Tanah Merah MRT by 7:55 and talk to all my 'dark' people outside the station till 8:10 before catching my compnay coach bus to Changi New Water Plant. The whole morning hasn't anything to expect, except waiting for lunch and random net surfing and ebaying. Of course I have to once in the while, walk pass my SO to ensure him that I had some job in hand. That will put him in comfy mind and stop assigning me random shit job. Shit job here I mean filing, copying and typing.



Finally 12 - 1pm will be my official lunch time, but I always took around 2 hours to eat, shit and smoke. Now the real ordeal came after lunch time actually. As food left inside your stomach needs blood supply to organ for digestion, our brain often lack oxygen which otherwise is conveyed by blood. So with the lack of oxygen, the famous after lunch syndrome is called "sleepy head". No matter how hard I shake my head or pinch my face, I cannot regain my full consciousness. So normally I will take a walk down to site for a afternoon walk and that is when the sun is scourgingly hot. Took some picture and chit chat with some technicians and return back to office at around 4 plus. Then go back my table, disturb Hari or eat some biscuit and then pack up at 5:30 sharp.

That's how boring my job is. But if there is one thing that changes for the better, that would be my prejudice on Indian food. I used to think how pathetic and gross the Indian food can be. The things that they eat and the way they eat almost like watching cannibalism on discovery channel. However I was told that, this particular way of eating with your hand and ripping the meat apart makes your food tastes better. So I decided to try..


Every morning, Ferradno will bring Iddly to work. It looks really nice, so went down to Mustarfa with Liping to critic the food.

Namely, Bhatura, Veggi set meal and IDDLY!!! I finally got to try iddly. Its so hard to find in open market. You have to go Indian cuisin resturant to get them.

I would like you to pay particular attention here. I am very amused by the way they present the food for this veggi set meal, because end of the end everything had to go into the center why bother to partition at the first time. Haha.. And before I forget, there's 2 bowl on top, the white one is called "oath milk", I don't know if I got it correct because that's the best I can make out from Hari's words. Oath milk is extremely tasty and sweet. Normally Hari mix them into the rice. He told me that Oath milk is like wine, you fermentate it to yoghet. You all should try very nice.

Iddly with Vadai $2.80

Since, the food taste better if we use our hand, so we used our hands! Its hard to eat at first, rice all over the shop but after you really learnt to eat with your hand, you will realize that hands are not only use for playing balls. But nevertheless, I was gifted with god's of hand, my finger works magic if you know what I mean. I had no difficulties in handling food with hand because I am so gifted. Haha. Hari told me that he even can drink soap with hands!!

That's quite clean, considerating our first attempt. We really enjoyed the experience. You normally don't get to use your hand to eat siol, except in a authenic Indian resturant.

Rules of thumb, your plam shouldn't have any contact with the food.

Lesson learnt, people should not be stigmatized just because of their social differences. Try to appreciate different culture. My value added!!

Club Sabai, Power house and V3

Went out to celebrate Elis birthday. Firstly, happy birthday to Elis, one year older already, so grown up and don't like a children still carry balloon to clubbing haha. Anyway, sorry for not joining you all at the power house. It super crowded like siao, not suitable for us la, and thanks Felicia for signing us in for free :)


Went to V3 to try out the club, I don't know but it wasn't as fun as Shihao described. The place was small, crowded. The live band suck also. Music was so so. Girl wasn't pretty also. Nothing like those compair to Club Sabai.V3's live band. SUck and music was deafening and unbearable.
All of us sit there, watching each other in horror. The next table, girl was crowding around an old man touching his chest, sitting on his groin and stuff. I think he just got his CPF money. So we cam whore a bit and decided to change back to power house and see what is the suitable. Elis they all must be having fun. So we went there to check them out. 82 buck for a tower.

So we change to Sabai, and to our utterly dismay, we found that entry to Sabai for ladies is 18 year old. So Elis they all should have came here initially, that will definately made her birthday a remarkable enjoyable. Cos I don't think power house is anywhere near fun cause they have been going outside to walk quite a few time.

Sabai was cosy and big. Live band very standard. They sing in English, Chinese, Cantonese and Hokkienese. Good mix of song. Alternate 1 hour, DJ will stream very nice R&B and English Pop so if you wanna work so fats, that is the time. Alternatively, you can also drink and enjoy music they sing. Still got dancer somemore. Very pro like that.

Exploiting N82 function to a multi media, camera phone

I am sorry for appearing so egotistic, but I have to announce my new phone again. Finally, I am able to overlook the blemishing aesthetical disappointment, and gotten the "ultimate" phone for myself. If you had not been following my blog often, fyi, my ultimate phone needs to have more than decent battery life, good camera, nice sound, pocket-able and preferably with WIFI and GPS. Despite changing so many different phone with so many times disappointment, I reckon that Nokia had the intention to purposely market flawed version so their next creation will always looks more appealing compare to what they already had. They had all the technology to create the "all in one" version but that means killing off rest of their model's sale figure.

Now that I am able to accept the fact that N82 is no way an eyes candy, in fact it looks like an oversize metallic soap bar. I highly suspects that Nokia purposely make it looks so ugly, if not everyone will be going after N82. Its would never going to impress any materialist girl I met, who sees electrical gadget as a symbolization of wealth. That's why boys buy those stupid "I" products. Expensive yet unable to providing justified functionality. Take Iphone for example, it so flawed in its function except for its ultra sensitive touch IU. Only shallow people crave for Iphone.

Instead of Iphone, Inano, Ipod how about names like, Isuck, Istupid or Ifuckingyou....

Now talking back N82 which running on Symbianplatform with 105o mAh capacity, high ram with 3D graphic accelerator, it promised to deliver open option on 3rd party software, fast interference and long talk time. Surpisingly, with so much of a feature packed, the phone could easily run 2 days on heavy usage.

On the hardware side, it equipmented with 5mp camera and xenon flash, which is so far the best camera performance I have even came across. Good start up speed and focusing time. What is the use of 8mp camera but takes halfday to start and focus. Like the stupid N85 and Omnia...

Beside camera, its GPS was the best I used so far. Able to locate position in less than a minute using its built in GPS receiver alone. IE, you don't have to connect to WIFI, GPRS or 3G network.

N82 can be exploited with functions that makes Iphone sniffing like a small kid that had his ice cream pooed on the floor. It won the 2007 best phone, to me it is still one of the best. No. It is still the best. I am loving it.

I sold everything I got. G705 and my 8.1mp digital camera are done. Because I need to save up for something big... Like Nokia 6720 or maybe Nokia 6710. They say jiu de bu qui, xing de bu lai. But then, it happen to me that if I never let go of my new one, I never know that my old one was so good.

Take for 2 for my old stuff. My HP photosmart 4.1 mp camera and Nokia 6220 classic.

I just realized that their camera ability was quite top notch one. Let go into my 4.1mp camera. Below I took with 2mp resolution with maximum compression.

G705 lasted 2 days. Sell off and brought NOKIA 6220 classic. Which somewhere this year I already buy before le. But decided to give him a second chance to prove itself to me. It's camera still never disappoint. Actually, It was a very great experience using its camera.

Vietnam coffee

Hello world, its weekend's update again. Went out to window shop today cause I really squeezing dry my pocket liao. I had already spent all my allowance for Australia. Paying bills, my NEA fine, brought G705 and k810i. I really broke already.

Lucky, today got a lot of freebie as Liping brings back some souvenir from Vietnam. That's partly because I keep asking her to bring me some Vietnam coffee.

So I got what I always wanted. Vietnam 'slowly brew it yourself' coffee. Vietnamese always brew very long for very little coffee, if u know what i mean.

That's the filtrate tools that come with the coffee power. Looks very alike to my basin junk separator. It totally messed up my kitchen with all the coffee concentrate.

Local london choco roll. According to Liping review. It tasted like chocolate ice cream at room temperature. Other than its quaintness property, I would never want to spent money on that. Don't taste like ice cream to me.

She now thinking to change a handphone, which I had convinced her to get a 6500 or K810i. She got to take a picture with my K810i before I sell it off again, with 14 dollar profit. I always change phone and I always earn profit. Smart guru never make a loss from second hand.
