I do cooking

Hey... good day people. I know you are damn excited to see how are we doing over at Bendigo right...

Right, starting first thing first.. We need a shelter, so there you go... This is our house, bag packer motel just 2 street across our workplace. A little like a bungalow. Just that there are 3 room up for grab. We got one and so far we were the only one, therefore we like owning the own house. POWER~

Was suppose to upload a video clip you know, however Internet is super slow over here.

But, let get a little sneak preview shall we?

Bendigo, bag packer motel apartment front
I tell you the weather here is super cold. Thou it never snow, but morning and night temperature hits 3 degree. Its like freezing already. Mouth still got stream when you talk. Cool? Ya, btw this is the 'living room' i guess. It really a room with electronic fire place for you to heat up the whole room. A TV and some sofa. I never use this place at all.

If you take a few step you reach the kitchen which relatively well kept and sufficient utilises for you to do cooking. And cooking is the only option here unless you would like to spend like $10 every meal.

Just 180 degree from the kitchen pic, you see a dining table and of course a fridge somewhere at the left. See it??

Here is our comfy little dwell. The queen size bed are mine while yanru sleeping a single size bed that were out of the camera angle. There is toilet and bathroom in our room. And as usual, the toilet bowl is freezing cold and you are like sitting on ice when you shit.

The rest are other people's room and laundry room. Will update the video as soon as I get it on the youtube.

Move on to work...

Already went to work on our first day at Coliban water. It sort of like Singapore version of PUB. They supply water and pipe construction to the town around Victoria state. It also have Water Reclamation Plant like Sembcorp's NEWater, however they used different method of pre treatments and they were rejected by the idea that we are using the recycled waste water of potable means.

Thing here had pretty settled down and things here are supremely expensive. Cao cao $10 very meal. Hard to find rice and noodle. They eat bread, meat or bread and meat. Costing 6 AUD on average for a sand witch. Convert back to Sin you time 1.12 times. Super ex...

We started to buy our own grocery and cook on our own.

Totaling to 84 AUD

We cooked mutton pie and maggi mee for day 1

We cooked rice with egg, potatoes, chicken fillet and beef slice for second day

Okie, these 2 days we are relatively busy in acclimatizing ourself to the time frame and weather. Using of Internet were not so much cause we still had to cook you see... So if you are all excited to see nice nice photo of Australia winter, I am afraid you had to wait to weekend before we had time to go further away for photo taking. In due time, take care of yourself and look forward to our Japanese BBQ when I am back okie?

Bonus Gallery....

p/s: I super super miss you. My dear N82... I need your to give me direction (GPS). I need you to entertain me (ngage platform games). I need you to comfort me when I am alone (mp3). I need a listening ear to confest to (calling). C901 suck ball okie. Picture suck suck suck. No GPS no wifi no nothing. CHee Bye to the person who takes my phone, "drag you to hell"

Our tedious journey to Bendigo

Now I am writing at Villa and Hut cafe in Melbourne Airport. We had been waiting here for 6 hours. The whole journey was painfully long, tiring and cumbersome.

Qinghe was here to send me off at Changi on Saturday 9am. Our endeavor started, boarding flight, wait, check out luggage, wait, check in luggage, wait (domestic exchanged flight). Reach Melbourne finally, wait. Now sitting in Villa and hut 5 am in the morning, still had to wait for sky bus to send us to city's train station. From there, we had to book a train to Bendigo... after that still had to take cab to Bendigo Backpacker (our lodging place) to book our room. You see, how painful am I for the pass 24 hours.

Qanta plane taken at Changi Airport

Lunch on Qanta plane

taking off...

Above the cloud

Nearing Perth Airport (interchange)

First flight was still okie, there are TV and music on the plane. Lunch provided and spacious enough for me to dose off. There was Qanta plane from Changi to Perth. After which, we had to do a transfer from Perth to Melbourne, but this time taking Jetstar. Jetstar budget aeroplane, you can identify instantly, lousy and campy sofa, not TV or music ( thou you can borrow a portable DVD player for 15AUD. No dinner ( thou you can buy sandwiches for 8AUD. Instead of TV showing you safety video, a flight crew do a live demonstration. Sibei lousy. 2 row instead of Qanta 3 row. So hard for me to fall asleep on Jetstar.

You can watch movie or listen to music

Yan Ru at Perth Airport

Me at Perth, waiting for Jetstar plane

So far today I spent around 50AUD buying sandwiches, coffee, beer + cigg. Very expensive everything. I am really tired on the first day. Still longing to go motel soon. See ya

Finally touched down at Melbourne Airport on Sunday 0030 in the morning.
Dawn till morning 7am to catch sky bus to southern train station.
Southern train station, waiting to get to Bendigo...
Be responsible, wear mask

Updated, finally reach motel, $250 per week. The room very run down and smelly. The previous backpacker just leave only and we straight next. Somemore no WIFI connection therefore we asked for transfer to better one. Grahm quoted us $340 for a better room, I was very reluant due to the steep price of $340 per week, but when we reached the new place, we will rather convinced because you can really see there are a lot of different within them, in term of hygiene and aesthetic I mean.

Aparting to Melbourne

Packing my bag already, quite ready for tomorrow flight to Victoria. I could be welcome by its cold weather of 4 - 12 degree the moment we touch down.

IDD card still haven't buy yet, I think I can forget about it already, just call using roaming. I already lost $500 this week. Can't be bother already.

No one will be fetching us at Airport, we will be arranging for our own night and take train from Melbourne to Victoria the next morning and then take cab to our temporary house. All not book yet. I guess we are putting our impromptu ability to test man. Plus carrying a few thousand also prove to be tricky, foreign country you just don't know what will happen.. If there is a god, then bless me.

People do miss me hor, I probably will be online every night because of it security and high H1N1 infectious rates. Last but not least, last time when I graduate from primary school... We listen to this... Its a oldies but its still effective...

當你背上行囊卸下那份榮耀 我只能讓眼淚流在心底
 面帶著微微笑用力的揮揮手 祝你一路順風..

Drag me to hell

Thinking where to go on this weekend? Why not catch a good horror movie? I recommend 'drag me to hell'. I just watched it and enjoyed quite. I am a person always looking out for good horror movie to give me a chill. Some really failed badly, so guess what this movie fright me a few times.

Although not those type of 'the ring' movie where it send you home at night thinking really hard at the storyline. But instead, drag me to hell involve creating intense one time off fright occasionally by increase the noise level. But end of the day, you just forgets what you had just watched. That's what I think, but I still recommend you to watch it lah.

Today went to vivo to renew my handset. Brought a C901. I mentioned that I wanna get this right? I got it. At the counter I just stoning like what to buy, E71, N5800, C905 or C901. Finally go for the cheapest one. Not much function inside just a 5mp camera with xenon. Not very in love nor hate it either. Give it some time to prove its worthiness.

Flying off soon. On Saturday 9am. It very early for me to ask people to come lah, however friend like Qing he, Jiayi, Yong sheng, Liping and Orange still offer to send me. I mean okie, happy still got friend like this care loh. Hoho... See you all soon...

N82 lost!

Great, yesterday I got 'robbed' clean.

Farewell party, Yiwei want to go BQ drink and insist that no one can go home without first being drunk. So first half, he was drunk. He created some trouble by 'jio men' the group of girl beside our table. He taught he hear them asking me "ni na li de?" but I suppose they asking if I was local or what.

Send him to cab then I join his friend drink somemore. I was drunk. I dunno what happen.

I wake up finding myself at Shenton way, I totally had no idea how I got there. Wallet and handphone gone. My pant was cut, I reckon they stole my wallet thro the hole. My precious N82 was gone, $50 in wallet gone. Go home I realized I signed debit card of $90. I think I brought drink at the Shenton way. I totally don't know what happen.

Devil Gary takes over again. Win liao loh. Total damage yesterday $500!!!!

Kan Ni Na Bu....

First drop of NEWater, last day of work

FINALLY, its over!!!

14 weeks for intense training to hold my breath, sweat like hell and then stink like a pig. Everyday Queenstown to Changi and then eat 'da bao', now totally can throw away. Next phase, pack my luggage to go Australia!

Although NEWater attachment quite sickening, I really gained some exposure to my relevant field of study. NEWater is like so relevant can! My 14 weeks 'cao gin', and I thought I had done a relatively well report and of course a relatively satifactory SO assessment. I did by part locally, now must go and fight oversea.

Yesterday, we pray for our plant because it moves from pre-commissioning period to offically producing droplet of NEWater. Auto strainer to Micro filtration to Reverse Osmosis then finally to UV disinfection. If I were to say I know every bolts and nuts in Changi, the sentence speaks for itself okie!! Pre-commissioning involves installating, checking of very component essetenial to produce NEWater and I been there, install it.. check it... loop it... flush it....

Conclusion, I am happy to went through this phase, every water plant only got one pre commissioning period. Rare loh...

I name this picture "dead pixel".. if you catch what I was bring across :)

Last day of work, sibei high... Took picture with Shan Feng and Ding Wen in the lift before we part individually. All my barang barang... No a lot though, and my "CUI" boots whose used to belong to Mr Cui now is a Plant Manager. Wear his boots mean I will become plant manager one day...

Along the way, I took some photo and now I think its time to share with you.

Very important you have to learn to read the P&ID. It drawn in Auto CAD with a lot of symbol which you must learn to identify. It will gives you a rough idea how the methodology of the whole process.
Learning line tracing on P&ID with a technician.

Learning to identify symbol and the actual valve on my own

Carry out visual check on valve or instrument

This is our 1st process water treatment (Micro filtration train)

Installation of module and membrane into MF vessels

Conduct loop test and termination on PLC

Our second step purification Reverse Osmosis

Installation of membrane into RO

Few thousand of small little membrane

Controlling of PLC through computer

Water quality test for feed water

Occasionally of course, flushing of pipeline to test of possible line leakage

Plus of course many other things more. I was given the option to work as a technician or engineer which I choose to train as a technician because I will have more thing to write in my reports. Overall, job wasn't fun of course. However some friends I know there were extremely nice. Which of course make me feel a bit upset on my last day. But joy of freedom overwhelm me almost like just a moment. Walking out to guard house to change my pass for the last time, resembling last time I ORD from camp. Euphoria.

The way back home, i rode exceptionally slow. Probably because don't have to work the next day already..

H1N1 in Victoria on the 'high'

Hey, remember yesterday I was talking about security problem in Victoria? And guess what, today's newspaper just added fuel to fire that had already gone out of control.

"Australia's Influenza A (H1N1) flu outbreak topped 620 yesterday - maiking it the biggest ourside Mexico, US and Canada.....

.... Hardest hit has been Victoria state, which includes Melbourne."

- The New Paper, Thursday 4 June 2009

"Two 18-year-olds who went out "curry bashing" in January and killed Victoria University academic Zhongjun Cao for his wallet and mobile phone will serve just two years in a youth detention centre for the vicious and random fatal attack."

Back to back, how am I suppose to handle this? Expect me to stay at motel all the way? Despite all shop at Victoria will be closed at 5pm. Plus I cannot go pub cause wait kena "curry pox" and weekend cannot go see penguin making love to each other. So how am I suppose to spend my 2 months. Not suppose to be like this lah.

FYI, tomorrow Monday will be my last day. After which I will take 4 days rest before flying. Till then I will be blogging a full version of my whole industry attachment.. So remember to back me back!

Smoke break~

"Curry bashing" in Melbourne yet again

During pandemic period, you heard that the world is very close to rising the phase to level 6. So what exactly are these phases and how are they differentiated? I was very interested so I looked up the web a little, basically to summarize:

Phase 1 no viruses circulating among animals have been reported to cause infections in humans.

Phase 2 an animal influenza virus circulating among domesticated or wild animals is known to have caused infection in humans, and is therefore considered a potential pandemic threat.

Phase 3, an animal or human-animal influenza reassortant virus has caused sporadic cases or small clusters of disease in people, but has not resulted in human-to-human transmission sufficient to sustain community-level outbreaks.

Phase 4 is characterized by verified human-to-human transmission of an animal or human-animal influenza reassortant virus able to cause “community-level outbreaks.”

Phase 5 is characterized by human-to-human spread of the virus into at least two countries in one WHO region. While most countries will not be affected at this stage, the declaration of Phase 5 is a strong signal that a pandemic is imminent.

Phase 6, the pandemic phase, is characterized by community level outbreaks in at least one other country in a different WHO region in addition to the criteria defined in Phase 5. Designation of this phase will indicate that a global pandemic is under way.

Singaporean had a really tight security to prevent infection within our country, however to date 11 confirmed cases of H1N1. I am strange about the trend that all infected were youth of age 16 - 29.. Youth were more vulnerable to influenza A? Or were there something else....

To date, fatality was rather low like a 0.3%, something to be glad about. However, lets hope that the virus will not evolve into more lethal version. Hope we can receive our patches updates for this virus soon.

This week not one but twice, I read from the newspaper about Indian student were racially bullied even though Police deny about the stigmatization in these 2 incidents. Curry bashing is metaphoric description of looking up Indian to beat up + rob.

Indian were not the only target, I read a news that 41 year old Chinese were beat to death by 2 youth of age 17, which were sentence lightly to 2 year jail. Although they were minor, but with these kind of sentence; I could only say spare the rod, spoil the child.

Read the news here

See, I will be going to Bendigo soon, and its located within Victoria and a few mile aways from Melbourne. From what's happening recently, I felt a nerve about the security of the place. Robbery and thief were common norm there, and making the matter worst, Melbourne current pandemically active on H1N1 virus. How??

I found my ultimate phone, how?

I just realized that I had already found my ultimate mobile phone. How?

If you had been following me, a big portion of my blog were talking about buying, selling and reviewing of different mobile. It always that close to finding my ultimate phone, and soon you hear me selling off again. Today you are hearing a different story, because I really really had found my ultimate phone. How do I justify that? 10 reasons why I got an ultimate phone

You found out that you had the ultimate phone when:

  • you bring your phone to anywhere you go, including toilet to read RSS feed through WIFI
  • you ditch your Fujifilm S1500 (prosumer camera) at home thinking that your mobile serve you sufficiently well as a point and shoot that is equipped with xenon flash for low light condition
  • you are relief that finally your mother are able to take clear picture which normally all her picture taken were blur due to camera shutter shake.
  • you ride your motor with one hand and surfing nokia map for direction to your destination
  • you played Ngage 2.0 game on your TV like resident evil with your AV out cable
  • you watching 'gossip girl' on MRT on your 2.8 inch display and megablast noise reluction ear bug through 3.5mm connection
  • you realize you don't have to install a single video convertor programe because your phone can support 3gp, avi, dixV, mpg4, flv (even straight from funshion w/o convert). You not only able to view youtube but you can also can save the vid after watching.
  • you discovered that your phones battery can be replaced with 2000mh battery found in thrid party brand which allows continous talk time of 12hrs (this is madness!!!!!)
  • you google for 'best mobile camera' and returns your phone name, you found out that it has been awarded the ‘Best Mobile Imaging Device in Europe 2008′ by TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) – Europe’s largest photo and imaging press association.
  • your contact is over with $50 voucher but you see no reason to downgrade to any handset that are displayed on shelf
Please tell me a reason (if any) to change phone, or any phone that can beat N82 in overall performace. Iphone? HTC diamond touch 2? Nokia Xpress music touch (5800)? SE walkman/ cybershot? All these phone were top in particular field only, when you talks about all in one, no one handle better than my 'swiss army knife' N82. Somebody stop me from grinning already.

Selling away my N82 is going to be next to impossible. Even if there is a chance of next updates, I will jolly well inherit to my mum.
