People always laughed at me for buying second hand stuff on the internet. "Eee, your one old one. You see scratches here and there, and people used before, eee" Something like this kind of comments are always common from my friends. But to me, I don't see what is wrong with buying second hand stuff, somemore I had been working in second hand phone industries long enough to differiate between which is a better deal.
If you really want to differiate between a used phone and a new phone. Each has their own advantage.
Mainly, a new one is new from factory and appearance is really flawless. A second hand which will be cheaper and appearance and function will not be as good as new.
Why I prefer an old set over a new one
1) Mainly is the price of course. I am a techology geek, I don't use thing longer than 6mth. Electronic stuff advances in a very fast pace, today you buy these, by tomorrow it is considered out-dated. Even not so, the price will starts to depreciate. So if I am often changing technology, why should I buy a new set and keep absorbing the depreciation?
2)But how often can you get a totally cocked up set. I mean if the set is totally wasted, the shop themselve wouldn't risk to take them in themself. As long as you know its still under warranty and you are confidence that you have source to help u repair when you are spolit then getting an old set is fine.
3) Taking PSP for example (or handphone if you want); how are you going to make sure that the set sold to you from a shop is definitely a new set. What if they recon the set from an old set and replace all the appearance stuff. You see, you buy psp, they will modify the set, that explain that he opened up the box and installed stuff on your machine before hand. It might be an old set you will never know. I know clearly of that, because I do that when I am in the handphone industries.
Anyway, it is up to the individual. I am not saying that new phone isn't good. But you choose between them with an ultimate purpose. Are you going for price or a piece of mind.
But anyway, I shared with Liwen on this PSP. Because I get sick of it really fast to own it all by myself.
Yeah. So long never update, really a lot of crap happened. This stupid cat is cute to touch but once he sense you are nice, like me. It will keep following. It followed me into the lift. Out of the lift and followed me into my house. I let it roam a while before I threw her out. She run in as soon as I threw her out. That repeats for more than 5 times, before she got agitated and attempt to bite me when I am trying to chase she out. I scare she shit in my house, so I had to let her follow me down stair, because she keep following me. Then when I reach below, I run as fast as my legs can carry me.
Yeah. I climb retenting wall the 3rd time. This time, Liwen takes the photo from below. Hmm, at least now it looks scarier..

I don't know why a lot of people are biased towards used phone. They despise on used product. But I think because they are not intelligent and capable enough to handle second hand product.
